A work trip to town for the day to be surrounded by all the latest stationery? Oh if you insist...
This week saw me jump on a train to the Business Design Centre in Islington to attend the first day of the London Stationery Show, a trade only event held every year.
It's a chance to see latest trends as well as find lovely new products and suppliers - although most of the Sherbet Lane stationery is produced in house there are still a few bits and bobs to be bought in for the SherbetBox, such as pens and pencils.
The Design Centre is a beautiful old building with a huge arched glass roof and makes quite an impressive venue for the show. This year there were two seminar areas where experts in the industry shared their knowledge and a fab new area in the centre of the show where table were set up to let you have a go at some of the more crafty supplies - I enjoyed getting my hands on some great crafty bits there!
Although the internet allows easy access to companies and sourcing new products these days, there is nothing quite like holding the new product in your hand or speaking to somebody face to face - a love a trade show!
I came home with new suppliers, news hot off the press that flamingos where going to be the next 'big thing' and lots of stationery inspiration!
