Needle Felting templates from Poppy Dragon

Poppy Dragon are a small local business creating really useful templates to help us all with our needle felting!

Videos on the way to demonstrate the best way to use them...

• Place a layer of felt inside the template and gently start to stab it with your felting needle
• Remember to lift the wool off your felting surface at times so it doesn't get stuck down
• It takes a little while for the wool to start to knit together, be patient!
• Once the wool starts to become firam and is holding the shape, start to pay attention with your needle to the edges of your shape
• With the wool still inside the template, hold it up to a light source and you will see gaps where light is coming through - this is where you will need to add small extra amounts of wool
• Keep felting for much longer than you think to be able to achieve a solid shape that won't 'relax' and lose it's shape
• You can remove the shape from the template and do some extra felting with your needle just to tidy up the edges.
• If you can see any join lines where you have added extra layers of wool, get a small amount of fibres to lay over the top to smooth out the surface.
