The Fold
Since July 2025 I have held my workshops at The Fold in Billericay.
It is a very beautiful old Victorian junior school that has been converted into a community arts centre, I love this building!

Established in 1979 as a registered charity, the Billericay Arts Association (BAA) operates The Fold. It relies entirely on unpaid volunteers for its operation and staffing. The BAA is self-financing, occupying The Fold rent-free thanks to Basildon District Council.
My room I rent used to be the Headmaster's room! We are tucked down the end of a corridor, it's a cosy space with room to comfortably host 6 people for a workshop.
How do I find The Fold?
- As you travel down Laindon Road away from the High Street you will go past a fire station on your left - that means you are close!
- Ahead on the right you will see large red boarding that covers the remains of the old Reid's pub that burnt down, it's just here that you want to turn right into Quilters Drive.
- As you enter Quilter's Drive you will see a car park entrance with a raised barrier to your left, there is a small 'Arts Centre' sign here too.
- Turn left into this car park, drive all the way to the end and then drive left around the building to arrive at The Fold car park.

Is the parking free?
Yes the car park is free at The Fold.
What facilities are at the venue?
We have male and female toilets near to our room, a kitchen area to prepare hot drinks and a separate space to eat your lunch if you are coming to a longer session.
