Workshops FAQ
Where are the workshops held?
Workshops are held at
How do I find The Fold?
- As you travel down Laindon Road away from the High Street you will go past a fire station on your left - that means you are close!
- Ahead on the right you will see large red boarding that covers the remains of the old Reid's pub that burnt down, it's just here that you want to turn right into Quilters Drive.
- As you enter Quilter's Drive you will see a car park entrance with a raised barrier to your left, there is a small 'Arts Centre' sign here too.
- Turn left into this car park, drive all the way to the end and then drive left around the building to arrive at The Fold car park.
Is the parking free?
Yes the car park is free at The Fold.
What facilities are at the venue?
We have male and female toilets near to our room, a kitchen area to prepare hot drinks and a separate space to eat your lunch if you are coming to a longer session.
What do I need to bring?
You don't need to bring anything with you, all materials and tools are supplied. I have tea, coffee or hot chocolate here for you but you are welcome to bring your own drinks and snacks.
If you are coming for a longer session the workshop listing will indicate if there is a lunch break, bring along a packed lunch!
Are there any shops nearby to buy lunch?
Billericay High Street is just a 10 minute walk away from The Fold and is full of cafes, supermarkets and restaurants that offer takeaway food for your lunch...or why not treat yourself to a nice breakfast before or an afternoon tea after your workshop?
You can leave your car at The Fold and walk to the High Street or jump in the car, there are a few places along the main road that allow 1 hour free parking, Waitrose has a car park or there are two public pay car parks just off the High Street.
How accessible is The Fold?
Access to my room is level with a small slope to the front door. There is a large disabled toilet close to the room where we hold the workshops.
If there is anything I can do to make your visit more accessible please get in touch and I will do everything I can to assist!
I'm a complete beginner so a bit nervous...
Please don't worry - I love complete beginners and will really look after you!
I break down all the workshops into stages and as we only ever have groups of 6 at workshops so I can give you lots of help and assistance.
Almost all the workshops are really beginner friendly (I'll state if they are a little trickier) and you'll be delighted with what you can make on your very first go :)
What age are the workshops for?
Most of the workshops I run are intended for adults and suitable for ages 16 plus but if you have a younger child who wants to come along please just get in touch and I'll let you know if it is suitable or if we can adapt the workshop a little for them!
Do you run private workshops?
I do offer private workshops for special occasions or just for friend get togethers, click here for more information.
